NYU is home to several dining facilities where you’ll probably be eating most of your meals. But you’re in New York City! You can’t not check out the food scene.
NYC is a foodie’s heaven. You can find any cuisine you can imagine here, and you’re bound to be within walking distance of a great restaurant no matter where you are. With so many options, how do you decide?? You could start with the famous ones–Katz’s Delicatessen on Houston, Shake Shack in one of the parks, or maybe Veselka on 9th Street. The options are endless!
Check out this guide to eating cheap in the city, or this one for the classics. If you still don’t know where to start, take a look at Smorgasburg, a weekend food festival with a little bit of everything. You should also check out the nearby farmer’s market at Union Square. Open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, you can buy everything from fresh produce to baked goods.
And if you see something that looks good, stop and take a look! It may not be on one of those guides, but with literally thousands of restaurants in the city, you’re sure to find something special on every corner. Don’t forget to ask about an NYU discount!
