The Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation, NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development, and Tisch School of The Arts invite you to attend “Designing a Galaxy with Chris Beatty.” Chris is a Portfolio Creative Director for Walt Disney Imagineering and the creative lead for the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios parks at the Walt Disney World Resort. As a creative leader, he is responsible for guiding the creative team in developing the vision and implementation for attractions and experiences throughout the parks.
What to expect? This is an interactive session aimed at unleashing the creative potential for all students, faculty and staff in attendance. Chris has dedicated himself to making dreams come to life in his teachings and work with Disney’s theme parks and attractions. Through his journey we will explore the creative leadership practices that have gotten him to where he is today and how we can think about these leadership practices moving forward.

Chris Beatty Bio: Chris is a two-time recipient of the THEA award for outstanding achievement in the themed entertainment industry, a member of the Creative Blue Sky Team and one of the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge (the most ambitious and largest land addition in Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland parks history). Chris got his start with Walt Disney Imagineering in 1997 as part of the Apprentice Program, and went on to join the Creative division as a Senior Concept Designer. Since 1997, Chris has worked on Innoventions in Disneyland Tomorrowland, Millennium Village in Epcot, Walt Disney Studios Paris Animation, Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years, and New Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. Prior to joining Walt Disney Imagineering, Chris worked at PromoWest Productions in Columbus, Ohio as an Art Director, where his responsibilities included working on concert and event promotion and installation.
